HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-03-07-HDC-min Town of Lexington Historic Districts Commission Minutes of March 7, 2002 Commissioners in attendance: Ian Adamson, Mark DiNapoli, Dan Fenn, Lynn Hopkins, and Associate Commissioner Daniel Griffin PETITIONS HEARD: 14 Muzzey Street – Sly & Fiore, PC – Hearing continued to April. 10 Brigham Road - Danielle Buckley from Bechtel Frank Erickson Architects, representing nd Sidney and Susan Rubenstein, received approval for a 7-foot 2 floor addition and renovations to the home. Certificate No. 2002C-15 1357 Massachusetts Avenue – Adina Curreri from Bechtel Brank Erickson Architects, representing Will and Lauren Spielvogel, received approval for an addition and renovations to the home. Certificate No. 2002C-16 USS Lexington Memorial/Visitors Center – Robert Hopwood, representing the Lexington Lion’s Club, presented a plan to put to benches to the side of the USS Lexington Memorial. Commissioners felt location was not appropriate. The Commissioner’s suggested the Lion’s Club look into locating the benches around the WWII Memorial to help it fit in better with USS Lexington Memorial. Hearing continued to April. CONTINUED: 443A Massachusetts Avenue – Greta Aanensen and Robin Combs received approval to lower nd window on left side elevation on 2 floor down enough to include a triangular vent above the window. On front elevation, received approval to install lamp at front door and porch door. Certificate No. 2002C-17 1874 Massachusetts Avenue – Stephen Hale, representing Cary Library, received approval for Deer Isle Granite, both rock-pitched and polished, and Elk Brook Bluestone (thermal finish). Commissioners will be contacted with mock-ups are ready for viewing. Dan Fenn recused himself from the hearing. Certificate No. 2002C-18 INFORMALS: 763 Massachusetts Avenue – Mart Ojamaa, representing Follen Church, presented plans to st renovate Church parsonage to include handicap bathroom on 1 floor and handicap ramp from rear entrance. Commissioners asked that Church to look at alternative locations for ramp and/or adding landscaping. Will return for formal. 1625 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE • LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02420 Minutes of March 7, 2002 (concluded) 1358 Massachusetts Avenue – Kum Kum Dilwali presented plans for a second floor addition. nd Commissioners felt 2 floor addition would change the look of the home. Suggested homeowners look into building in the rear of the home. Will return for another informal. The minutes of February 7, 2002 were approved. The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
