HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-11-02-HDC-min Town of Lexington Historic Districts Commission Minutes of November 2, 2000 Commissioners in attendance: Ian Adamson, Joann Gschwendtner, Lynn Hopkins, and Associate Commissioners Daniel Griffin and Eleanor MacQueen PETITIONS HEARD: 10 Muzzey Street – Jennifer Patterson, representing Prime Cut Hair Salon, presented plans for a new sign with a name change to Blue Complete Hair Salon. Hearing continued for minor changes to sign detail. 898 Massachusetts Avenue – Eileen and Monica Cotter received approval for repainting house, including trim and storms, shed and deck and bulkhead. Certificate No. 2000C-100 CONTINUED: 13 Depot Square – Lexington Historical Society – Gardner Hayward received approval for a temporary construction sign to be put on the Depot Building. Ms. Gschwendtner recused herself from the hearing. Certificate No. 2000C-101 1844 Massachusetts Avenue – Crafty Yankee Home – Kathy Fields received approval for a hanging sign using existing hardware. Certificate No. 2000C-103 905 Mass. Avenue – Jack Shay received approval for repair of column adding 4” of detail to bottom of column (vote 4-1 with Adamson opposed) and 2 doors (one located on east side of porch and other at kitchen. Certificate No. 2000C-102 1994 Massachusetts Avenue – Joyce Roetter received approval for a garage door. Certificate No. 2000C-104 INFORMALS: 2 Bloomfield Street – Maria Romano presented some preliminary plans for an addition. Commissioners felt plans were appropriate and gave suggestions on what to include on the detail plans for formal hearing. 1475 Massachusetts Avenue – Fred Donovan asked the Commission the process for demolition and rebuilding a pergola in the rear of the Muzzey Condominiums. The Commissioners suggested coming for a formal hearing in December to request demolition of the pergola. 31 Curve Street – Julie Matheson interested in putting offer in on house but wanted to ask the Commission if they would approve a dog walk fenced area on the property. The Commission felt it could be done. 1625 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE • LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02420 Minutes of November 2, 2000 (concluded) The Commission received a request from Peter Chalpin to change the wording on a few signs for the parking while Cary Library is located in Cary Hall. The request was approved. The minutes of October 5, 2000 and October 17, 2000 were approved. The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
