Minutes of August 3, 2000
Commissioners in attendance: Ian Adamson, Mark DiNapoli, Dan Fenn, Joann Gschwendtner,
Lynn Hopkins, and Associate Commissioners Jeff Denzak and Eleanor MacQueen
PETITIONS HEARD:
1625 Mass. Avenue –
Peter Chalpin, representing the Town of Lexington, presented and
received approval for a temporary parking plan to be in effect while the Cary Library is in Cary
Hall. Certificate No. 2000C-76.
480 Mass. Avenue –
Graig Dudman, representing Emily Allen, received approval to reroof
home with new color, and to add drip edge and ridge vent. Certificate No. 2000C-77.
1707 Mass. Avenue –
Sam Ibrahim, representing Eccoli Hair Design, received approval for two
new rear signs and repainting of front sign. Ms. Gschwendtner recused herself from hearing.
Certificate No. 2000C-78.
23 Bedford Street –
Brian Cunningham received approval for new wood windows, facia, sofits,
wood gutters, and storm door. Certificate No. 2000C-79.
1073 Mass. Avenue –
Patrick and Karen Martin received approval for fencing the backyard area.
Continued for playset and granite post with house number in front. Certificate No. 2000C-80.
1139 Mass. Avenue –
James and Kyoko Feeney presented plans for fencing front of property.
Commission continued hearing suggesting homeowner consider other options.
10 Muzzey Street –
Susan Lapointe, representing Christian Science Reading Room, presented
an acrylic holder for outside front door. Commission suggested wood would last longer.
Hearing continued.
CONTINUED:
846 Mass. Avenue –
Beth Chase received approval for a sign that will fit in existing frame on
building. Certificate No. 2000C-81.
905 Mass. Avenue –
Jack Shay received approval for location of bulkhead, 3 basement
windows, air conditioning units hidden with shrubbery, and addition of 7x9 foot bathroom with
double window. Certificate No. 2000C-82.
INFORMALS:
45 Bedford Street –
Peter Torode presented information for two air conditioning units. Formal
hearing in September.

1063 Mass. Avenue –
Carl Proper discussed the possibility of new windows, attic fans, and
removal of trees. Will return for formal.
10 Muzzey Street –
Laurel Carey, Indulgence Day Spa, presented signage plans. Commission
agreed with plans. Will return for formal hearing in September.
Harrington Road/Bedford Street/Battle Green Area
: The Commission approved an extension
until May 1, 2001 to the Town of Lexington for the temporary traffic improvements contingent
on the Town beginning the planning process.
Chairman Gschwendtner asked Mr. Denzak to work with Dabin Restaurant to try to resolve the
dumpster problem.
The minutes of July 6 were approved.
