The Chisholm memorial at Pine Meadows needs to be accelerated if the Recreation
Committee would like to have it installed by spring. Rick DeAngelis will send a
letter to Jeanne Krieger explaining the memorial and requesting time to present the
proposal to the Board of Selectmen. Sandra Shaw and Rick DeAngelis will begin
private fundraising.
??
Dick Thuma asked for a status report on the Skatepark article funds. Karen Simmons
reported that the article has just over $15,000 remaining. Town Meeting approved
money for fencing and beautification, but if funds were left over, money could be
used to purchase events. Dave Pinsonneault has been unable to secure 3 quotes to
raise the Worthen Road fence from 4’ to 6’. There has been no progress for two
years. Karen Simmons would like to purchase an event and then close the remaining
balance. The Recreation Committee supports the change.
??
The Town will be holding the first of three public meetings for the West Lexington
Greenway project at 7:00pm tonight. Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc (VHB) was hired
as the consultant to complete the Master Plan. They will be setting up a display
including maps at 6:30pm and will be available to answer questions before the
meeting begins at 7:00pm. The focus of the meeting will be to review the project
including the inventory of existing conditions. Karen Simmons believes it is very
important to get the public involved early in the process.
5. Parks Report
