2020 Vision Committee Meeting
Friday, November 14, 2008
7:45 - 9:00 a.m. in Selectmen’s Meeting Room
In attendance:
Peter Enrich, Ann Redmon, George Burnell, Candy McLaughlin
The minutes from the October 17 meeting were approved.
Economic Development Forum:
Candy reported that LexMedia she finished editing the video
of the October 4 forum, and LexMedia’s next scheduled broadcast is Saturday 11/15 at noon.
She has asked that the video be available on demand from their website.
Collaboration with TMMA:
Continuing the discussion from the last meeting, members present
agreed it would be good to suggest to TMMA the idea of annual precinct meetings, and ask how
2020 Vision could help. The meetings would be held before the March election, to give an
opportunity for residents to find information about and discuss the issues. The concept of
precinct meetings to encourage civic participation was proposed by the Constructive Community
Discourse Task Force, and 2020 Vision used this structure in 2003 for getting community input
on long-term goals. The next step would be for Fernando to contact Edith Sandy about attending
a TMMA Executive Committee meeting.
Demographic Change Task Force:
There was brief discussion of Task Force progress in
collecting information from Town and School staff. A request was made that Task Force Chair
Bebe Fallick be invited to a future Committee meeting to discuss the focus of their work and a
tentative time line.
Future Meetings:

Peter indicated that he cannot make the next meeting, and Candy agreed to poll the members
about an alternate date.

George requested that Committee membership be put on next month’s agenda.
