<br />PLANNING BOARD MINUTES <br />MEETING OF JUNE 6, 2012 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning Board, held in The Selectmen’s Meeting Room, <br />Town Office Building, was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Chairman Richard Canale with <br />members Greg Zurlo, Wendy Manz, Charles Hornig and Michelle Ciccolo and planning staff <br />Maryann McCall-Taylor, Aaron Henry and Lori Kaufman present. <br /> <br />****************************ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT************************ <br />Melisa Tintocalis, the Town Economic Development Officer, updated the Planning Board on the <br />projects currently being worked on. Ms. Tintocalis spoke about the parking management study <br />and the kickoff meeting of the Center Parking Task Force on June 11 at 8:00 a.m. and explained <br />how parking management would be related to zoning in the Center. Ms. Tintocalis suggested the <br />Planning Board have a representative in the Parking Work Group, which would focus on the <br />Center. The Board also suggested having a joint working group with the Center Committee on <br />the separate issue of zoning changes in the Center, specifically the height and density issues that <br />the Board may want to bring again to the 2013 spring Town Meeting. <br /> <br />**************************TRANSPORTATION PLANNING*********************** <br />South Lexington Transportation Study RFP <br /> <br />David Kucharsky, the new Transportation Planner, presented the RFP for the South Lexington <br />Transportation Study. <br />Board comments included the following: <br /> <br /> There is no list of concrete deliverables showing what the Town will have at the end of <br />the day for the study; <br /> <br /> There is an overemphasis on automobile level of service; <br /> <br /> Make sure the consultants do a count when sports are in full swing at the busiest time <br />starting at 3:00 p.m.; <br /> <br /> Address the community for their definition of the area; <br /> <br /> Liveability impacts need to be addressed concerning the speed of traffic on Spring Street <br />and pedestrian safety; and <br /> <br /> The Lincoln and Worthen Road intersection should be added. <br />The Board should send any further comments to staff by the end of the week. <br /> <br />
