MINUTES <br />Greenways Corridor Committee ACROSS Lexington Task Group <br />May 14, 2012, 4:30 -5:30 pm <br />Room 111, Town Hall <br />Members Present: Rick Abrams, Eileen Entin, Keith Ohmart <br />Members Absent: Alex Dohan <br />Subject Discussed: Across Lexington project. Discussion only, no votes taken. <br />Trail Signage Update — Mike Tabaczynski has confirmed that he will be <br />presenting a draft proposal for a comprehensive town -wide trail marking system <br />at the May 21 Greenways Corridor Committee meeting, 4:30 -6 pm, Legion <br />Room, Cary Hall. Rick to follow up. <br />2. Myrna Road crossing — Stew Kennedy has contacted John Livsey, Town Engineer <br />to arrange for a site visit with town engineering staff to review the proposal to <br />route the Phase 1 route from North Street to Myrna Road along Adams Street with <br />a pedestrian crossing at Myrna Road. Rick to follow up. <br />3. Sidewalk Committee — Eileen and Rick met with the Sidewalk Committee in <br />April to review the overall ACROSS Lexington concept. The Sidewalk <br />Committee expressed support for the proposal with no further action required. <br />The Safe Routes to Schools sub committee of the Sidewalk Committee offered <br />access to published maps of safe walking routes to various town schools. <br />4. Bicycle Advisory Committee — Eileen and Alex met with Peggy Enders, Chair of <br />the Bicycle Advisory Committee to obtain advice regarding posting of ACROSS <br />Lexington route signs along the Minuteman Commuter Bikeway. General <br />approval was indicated with some concern expressed to keep sign posting to a <br />minimum. All parties agreed that planning for ACROSS Lexington signage needs <br />to become part of the work being done under a grant received by a consortium of <br />the three towns (Arlington, Lexington, Bedford) managing the Minuteman <br />Bikeway to develop a Bikeway -wide signage plan. <br />Logo Design — Rick will be making additional contacts to recruit a graphic <br />designer to design an AROSS Lexington logo. Rick to follow up. <br />6. Funding — A proposed budget for Phase 1 has been provided to Deb Mauger who <br />has agreed to inquire about possible town funding.
