Bean Kelley rno ed to approve the minutes of <br />the February 15 meeting. Lynne Wilson a onded the motion and It passed. <br />Mr. Williams reported on the progress with the dog regulation signs. He said that they were expected to <br />be ready on l arch 2 2. There were 12 signs tots I with 8 going to Flayden and 4 for our c rnrnittee to <br />place. <br />M r* Kelley reported on the progress with the bath room fay ci lity to be constructed at the pa r . The <br />paper has been signed by the Selectmen. and Town Manager. A check for $25,000 will be drawn as <br />soon as possible and given to the Lions Club so that they can begin the process. Dick Perry of the Lions <br />Club will renew the building permit immediately if he has not already done so. Fur draisir g is now the <br />priority. Mr. Kelley has talked to Jon Eddy a d will do so again with regard tO approaching the youth <br />sports groups. There was some dis usslon about a letter but the l n itlal contact will be personal. M r. <br />Kelley will also speak to Peter Coleman., the Recreation Department coordinator for teen sports. Doug <br />Luc me of the Lions Club wi II act as treasurer for this project. Brian Kelley gill inform I ly ta Ik to the <br />leagues abet the fact that this construction is again on track and the need for funding co mm1trnent . <br />Wes Wirth reported about the map and information sign ge. He is working with the graphic artist who <br />designed the pamphlet and looking at a T by ' sign. The com mittee discussed a possibility of <br />perimeter m akp signs and 1 sign with more 1nforrnation to be installed at the intersection of the bike <br />path, boa rdwaI k and new mound areaN. The question wa raised as to whether we should invest in <br />additionaI signs ire case of vandalism. M r. Wirth did not think this would be necessary. <br />Wes Wirth reported. about the maintenance plan. He has a quote from John Hamilton, originally with <br />Lussier, for are a nnuaI budget. This would include $ -7,000 for sp ang clean - u p using 5 men for 3 days. <br />Work eery two weeks for a total of 11 tunes during the growing season. This would use 5 men for one <br />day at a cost of $2,250 (total'$24,750).'The question was asl ed if 3 men would be adequate. Cutting <br />the meadow $350 per cut and fall clean -up — leaves off trails, etc. - $2,800. Irrigation on and off would <br />cost $500. Mr. Wirth will also get bids from Barnard and i=otl. Total yearly cost including new planting <br />materials and tree work should not exceed $40,000. <br />Mr. Wirth will do a plant inventory to check on winter kill. He feels that additional plants are needed on <br />the left sign of the path going toward the fields and under the oak trees at the bike path on Wo rthe n. <br />The next meeting is scheduled for 4: on April 5.
