LINCOLN PARK SUB-COMMITTEE <br />Minu — April 1 7, 2012 430 p ry <br />Present — David Wlll1ams, Chairman, Rrian KelIey, Lynne Wi lsorn, Parker Hirtke, Neck Walk r <br />A lso present — Wesley Wirth, Landscape Architect, Ch ris Fikadoro, Parks De ent, Wendy Rudner, <br />Recreation and Bruce Walker <br />David Williams opened the meeting at 4:35 and 1 ntrodo ed Mr. Fikadoro who explained his job <br />description. He will be our DPW contact. <br />Brian Kelley reported on the f tndra`lsing for the bathroom facility. He explained that the. letter he had <br />mitten gill be sernt to all leagues and anyone who reserves the fiends at LlncoIn park. He may go to a <br />Little League board meeting to explain~ the construction'. <br />Nell Walker reported on Garlic Wstard Day which will be a to day effort April 21 and 22 from 1 -. <br />pW WiII pick up the bags of garlic mustard on the 23 The volunteers will meat at W orthen Road. <br />Besides deli, Josh perltein and possibly Liz H will be on hand to oversee the effort} <br />The sprinklers wiII be turned on Friday, Ap ri 120. There was a di ussion of o atering plantings and <br />especially the trees on Worthen load. <br />Wes Mirth had walked with Bob Barnard La ndsca ping through the park to discuss the maintenance. <br />Mr. Barnard was somewhat overwhelm ed by the scope of the work that would need to be done. H e <br />said that he wouId tall( to Part ierre and maybe use them as a subcorntractor. Va nessa from Partlerre <br />could work with his crew. M r. birth has also tail ed to John Ha m flto rn, formerly with Lussier, about the <br />maintenance contract. He is waiting for cost estimates and proposals from both of therm. H expects <br />that eleven one day visits every two weeks daring the growing season (22 weeps) v oolal be adequate. <br />Wes also prose nted the co nrmittee with a draft of the suns which are proposed for the entrances and <br />the area near the podium. <br />Mr. Williams asked Wendy R udner about replacements for himself and' Lynne Wilson. They have not yet <br />been selected. <br />Brian Kelley suggested that a letter to the editor or guest editorial in the Iiinute -llatn would be helpful <br />with the fundraising. <br />Wes Wirth told the group that he was working with the park department on the replacement of the <br />gees inn the Pa rkirng lot.
