Fund for Lexington <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Tuesday, March 9, 2004 <br />Present: Michael Novack, Dan Lucas, Alan Fields, Jeanne Krieger, Lauren MacNeil, Father Colletti, David <br />Walsh and Dawn McKenna <br />Next Meeting: Tuesday, June 8, 2004 5 PM <br />The following policies for distribution of the Fund for Lexington for Human Services activities were <br />affirmed: <br />1. The Fund for Lexington will supplement the Human Services Fund to ensure at least $5,000 is <br />distributed annually. The Human Services Coordinator will report quarterly on the distribution of <br />funds to both the Fund for Lexington and the Public Trusts. <br />2. For `large requests' i.e. those that could deplete the Human Services Fund, the Human Services <br />Coordinator, after appropriate internal review, will continue to present cases to the Fund for <br />Lexington Board. Approval of these expenditures may be by poll vote (Phone or e -mail) with <br />subsequent ratification at a scheduled meeting. <br />3. The Human Services Coordinator will draft a public relations program for the Fund for Lexington. <br />Among the suggested vehicles for promoting the Fund are: <br />• A brochure similar to the Human Services Fund or combining the services of the Fund <br />for Lexington and the Human Services Fund into one brochure <br />• Distribution of the brochure(s) at Stop &Shop, local banks <br />• Seek recommendations from the Clergy Association <br />• Ask town employees e.g. police, DPW involved in emergency response efforts in the <br />community to help identify clients <br />Approved $4000 gift to the Liberty Ride Lexington to Concord Pilot Program <br />The Chair of the Board of Selectmen has nominated Dawn McKenna as Chair of the Fund for Lexington <br />Board and Richard Pagett as the second Selectmen representative. <br />
