MINUTES <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br />September 16, 2008 <br />4:30 p.m., Selectmen's Office, Town Office Building <br />PRESENT: Norman Cohen, George Burnell, Dan Lucas, Alan Wrigley, Charlotte Rogers <br />1. Approximate amount of money available as of 8/31/08: Income: $22,426.00 <br />Principal: $12,416.94 <br />2. Human Services Report: <br />a. Charlotte Rogers gave the Human Services Report for the period March 12, 2008 to <br />September 12, 2008. She explained that the Human Services Emergency Fund, <br />which was in the name of the Friends of the Council on Aging and held in the Social <br />Services Department, is now held by the Town Treasurer and renamed as the Town of <br />Lexington Human Services Emergency Fund. Now when requests are approved for <br />funding, the check comes from the Town Treasurer. The Emergency Fund receives <br />money from the Fund For Lexington and from the Trustees of Public Trusts. It was <br />noted that traditionally $2,000 is sent from the Fund for Lexington in January and <br />July of each year. Charlotte reviewed the approved requests for funds for the period <br />covered in her report. <br />b. Ratify Poll Vote Request: $659.39 for AR medical bills. APPROVED 4 -0. <br />c. Authorize up to $3,500 for the Christmas Gift Certificates, which are jointly funded <br />by the Rotary Club and the Fund for Lexington. APPROVED 4 -0. <br />3. Other Issues <br />a. Request from East Lexington Community Association - $1,725 for flower barrels. <br />APPROVED 4 -0. <br />b. Ratify poll vote request - $2,500 for barrels in Center. APPROVED 4 -0. <br />4. The minutes of April 9, 2008 were approved 4 -0. <br />5. The next meeting will be December 2, 2008. <br />
