<br />Minutes <br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />March 22, 2012 <br />Legion Room, Cary Hall <br /> <br />Members Present <br />Suzie Barry, Dick Crogan, Mary Gillespie, Jo-Anne Granger, Paul Jenkins, Julie Miller, <br />Wayne Miller, Bill Mix, Henry Murphy, Sandy Podgorski and Charlie Price <br /> <br />Members Not Present <br />Linda Dixon, Sondra Lucente, Jim Shaw, Dave Taylor and Bob Tracey <br /> <br />Business <br /> <br />Suzie Barry convened the meeting at 7:05 pm. <br /> <br /> <br />March 15, 2012 minutes were approved and accepted with two amendments. <br /> <br /> <br />Patriots’ Day 2012 <br /> <br />Morning Events <br />Reenactment <br />There are two designated handicap seating sites – one, in front of the <br />reviewing stand and, the other, in front of the Minuteman statue. <br />Youth Parade & Ceremony <br /> <br />Abby Grant and Sarah Lehman of the Youth Committee will be this year’s <br /> <br />masters of ceremony at the green. <br /> <br />Mary Gillespie is still searching for a vocalist. Suzie can suggest someone <br /> <br />if a student is not available. <br /> <br />Afternoon Parade <br /> <br />Suzie has not had a response from the Bruins. <br /> <br /> <br />Most sponsorship letters have been mailed by the Chamber of <br /> <br />Commerce. <br /> <br />Suzie walked the green with the appropriate town department <br /> <br />representatives. <br /> <br />Several Brookline Bank employees are available to help. <br /> <br /> <br />Membership assignments will be discussed at next week’s meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />Votes were taken on the following motions – <br /> <br /> <br />to accept six groups for participation at no fee, including Living <br /> <br />History. <br /> <br />to accept one marching band group for a fee. <br /> <br /> <br />to accept a vehicle group at the same fee as last year. <br /> <br />All motions passed unanimously and were accepted. <br /> <br />Committee set out the parade order. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm <br />Respectfully submitted by Sandy Podgorski <br />
