<br />Minutes <br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />March 15, 2012 <br />Legion Room, Cary Hall <br /> <br />Members Present <br />Suzie Barry, Linda Dixon, Mary Gillespie, Jo-Anne Granger, Paul Jenkins, Julie Miller, <br />Wayne Miller, Sandy Podgorski and Bob Tracey <br /> <br />Members Not Present <br />Dick Crogan, Sondra Lucente, Bill Mix, Henry Murphy, Charlie Price, Jim Shaw and Dave <br />Taylor <br /> <br />Business <br /> <br />Suzie Barry convened the meeting at 7:10 pm. <br /> <br /> <br />February 2, 2012 minutes were approved and accepted. <br /> <br /> <br />Patriots’ Day 2012 <br /> <br />Morning Events <br />Reenactment <br /> <br />DPW, which has several new staff members this year, called a meeting to <br /> <br />review the event and their responsibilities. <br /> <br />There is a change this year to the roped area configuration. <br /> <br /> <br />Media will move from one side of the green (big rock) to the other (near <br /> <br />the tall pine tree), creating a third entrance to viewing sites. <br /> <br />Free speech location is yet to be determined. <br /> <br /> <br />Town Celebrations Committee duties at this event remain the same. <br /> <br />Youth Parade <br /> <br />Suzie has not heard from the Youth Commission as to who will <br /> <br />participate. <br /> <br />Send an e-mail to the scouts about participation. <br /> <br /> <br />The (joint) middle school band has been invited to play at the green. <br /> <br /> <br />Pastor Richard Rhodes at Grace Chapel has had a change in plans and <br /> <br />cannot officiate at the ceremony. However, Pastor Cynthia Fantasia of <br />Service and Women’s Ministries, also at Grace Chapel, will take his place. <br /> <br />Mary Gillespie will ask Jeff Leonard if a student is available to sing. If not, <br /> <br />Suzie knows of someone who can fill in. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Afternoon Events <br /> <br />Buses have been ordered at the same price as last year. Routes remain <br /> <br />the same. <br /> <br />Brookline Bank staff will probably volunteer with us again this year. <br /> <br /> <br />Suzie will talk with Jerry Michelson about announcing the parade from <br /> <br />the grandstand. <br /> <br />Chamber of Commerce sponsorship letters have been mailed. <br /> <br /> <br />
