MINUTES <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br />March 16, 2010 <br />4:30 p.m., Selectmen's Office, Town Office Building <br />PRESENT: Norman Cohen, Dan Lucas and Emily Lavine, Assistant Director for Family <br />Services, Human Services Department <br />1. Approximate amount of money available as of 2/28/10: Income: $47,403.54 <br />Principal: $75,761.34 <br />2. Human Services: <br />a. Emily Lavine gave the Human Services report. The recent trend has seen a number <br />of requests for rental assistance as opposed to help with utility costs. Some <br />affordable housing is not as affordable to some because of extras that are not included <br />in the rent. Attempts are made to eliminate costs such as cable television. <br />Since a quorum was not present, ratifying votes will be taken up at the next meeting. <br />3. Other Issues: <br />a. A poll vote will be solicited for the East Lexington Community Association's request <br />Of $1,470.00 for holiday wreaths. Norman Cohen and Dan Lucas indicated approval. <br />b. Norman Cohen will call Fred Johnson to discuss the Lexington Symphony's request <br />for $10,000. <br />4. The next meeting will be June 15, 2010. <br />
