MINUTES <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br />December 7, 2010 <br />4:30 p.m., Selectmen's Office <br />Present: Norman Cohen, George Burnell, Dan Lucas, Alan Wrigley, Emily Lavine, Assistant <br />Director for Family Services, Human Services Department. <br />1. Approximate amount of money available as of 10/31/10: Income $30,000 <br />Principal $76,521 <br />Expenditures after 10/31/10: Printing /postage for 2010 Fund Letter $4,142.32 <br />Gift Cards $3,407.90 <br />2. Human Services: <br />Emily Lavine gave the Human Services report. The gift cards for clothing have been <br />purchased. TJX gave a 7% discount. There have been a number of walk -ins seeking help <br />from the Human Services Department. <br />3. Other Issues: <br />a. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 3 -0 -1 (Burnell abstained) to <br />approve the request from the East Lexington Community Association for $1,140.00 <br />for flower barrels. <br />b. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 3 -0 -1 (Burnell abstained) to <br />approve a request from the Citizens' Academy for $750 to support their initiative in <br />reaching out to the Asian Community. The Citizens' Academy is to be advised that <br />since it is now established, additional funds will not be available from the Fund for <br />Lexington. <br />4. Next Meeting — March 15, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. <br />5. Approval of the September 21, 2010 minutes — Approved 4 -0. <br />
