MINUTES <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br />October 18, 2011 <br />4:30 p.m., Selectmen's Office <br />Present: Norman Cohen, George Burnell, Father Colletti, Alan Wrigley and Emily Lavine, <br />Assistant Director for Family Services, Human Services Department. <br />1. Money Available as of 9/30/11 Income $46,118 <br />Principal $76,810 <br />2. Human Services: <br />a. Human Services Report: June 21, 2011 to October 18, 2011 <br />Emily Lavine gave the Human Services report. Between July 5, 2011 and October 3, <br />2011, the Human Services Emergency Checking Account was reduced by $2,480.00 <br />for numerous emergency rent, fuel and daycare services. The balance in the <br />Emergency Checking Account is sufficient at this time. Emily also showed a draft <br />copy of a brochure explaining the Lexington Emergency Assistance Fund. <br />b. Ratify Poll Vote - $619.18 to restore electricity; $1,000 rent in arrears. <br />4 -0 Ratified both <br />c. Request for grocery cards - $500.00 <br />Vote to approve $250.00 for Stop and Shop Cards and $250.00 for Market Basket <br />Cards. Father Colletti indicated that he would be donating $200.00 worth of grocery <br />cards. Emily Lavine will follow up on TJX for clothing at holiday time and let the <br />Board know the amount requested. <br />3. Other Issues: <br />a. LHS Landscaping Request - $5,000.00 <br />Approved 4 -0 in the amount of $1,500 for plant material to be used at the High <br />School. <br />b. East Lexington Blooming Flower Barrels - $1,580.00 <br />4 -0 Approved in the amount of $1,580 <br />c. Lexington Human Rights Request - $500.00 <br />3- 0- 1(Burnell) Approved up to $500. As of now, they plan to spend $300. <br />d. Repayment Letter <br />The Board was pleased by the letter from a fund recipient who was now able to pay <br />back the amount given, even though he was not requested to do so. <br />4. Next Meeting <br />The next meeting will be on December 13, 2011. <br />5. Approval of the June 21, 2011 minutes. <br />Minutes approved 4 -0. <br />
