NOISE ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />23 January 2012 <br />A duly posted meeting of the Noise Advisory Committee (NAC), held in Room 111 of <br />Town Halll, was called to order at 8:30 pm by Chairman Tony Galaitsis with members <br />Jack Maloney, Bob Earsy, Mary Hosmer Fanucci, Steve Kropper and Planning Board <br />liaison Richard Canale present. Also present in the audience was Jeff MacLean, <br />representative of the New England Locations. <br />The NAC covered the topics as listed in the agenda, namely: <br />Discussion of proposed Filming Event by Riff Raff Films <br />Jeff MacLean briefed the Committee on plans for filing "Friends will help you move" <br />Petitioner described the generator that is planned to power lighting. Staff of 25 <br />expected on site. As noise impact was considered, member Bob Earsy pointed out <br />that the generator was likely to be muted simply to avoid noise impacts on the <br />filming. Bob also pointed out that in the winter residents are likely to have their <br />windows closed. Filming anticipated between 5:30 and 7:00 AM. <br />The petitioner provided an aerial photo detailing the filming area, the staging area, <br />the use of Hancock United Church for crew, and the church lot for crew and other <br />associated vehicle parking. NAC members were provided with the project <br />application submitted on 1/11/12. <br />The Petitioner requested that the NAC vote reflect a 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM February <br />17 -18 beginning -to -end schedule rather than the 3:00 PM to 6:00 AM schedule <br />shown in the application. <br />The Committee unanimously voted to recommend that the Selectmen approve the <br />Petitioner's 1/11/12 application for a permit. <br />Minutes of previous meeting (1/10/2012) <br />The Committee approved the minutes unanimously. <br />Other <br />Chairman Galaitsis inquired about members' recollection of earlier deliberation and <br />decision (a few years ago) by the NAC to provide authority to the Chair to convey <br />the NAC's position on similar filming events without a formal NAC meeting. He will <br />request minutes of the relevant former meeting to clarify this point for future cases. <br />The meeting was adjourned at about 9:00 pm. <br />Minutes recorded and prepared by Steve Kropper, <br />NAC member & Secretary <br />
