Tourism Committee Minutes Monday, April 25, 2012 Room G -15 Members Present: Susan Bennett, Kerry Brandin, Bebe Fallick, Dawn McKenna, Paul O'Shaughnessy, John Patrick, Lou Sideris Guest: Alison Falitoco Staff: Masha Traber 1) Review and approve minutes — a) Taking minutes for this meeting — Paul O' Shaughnessy b) Monday, March 22, 2010 — Mary Jo Bohart c) On motion made and seconded it was voted to adopt the Minutes of February 28, 2011. d) Monday, March 14, 2011 — Mary Gillespie e) On motion made and seconded it was voted to adopt the Minutes of March 28, 2011 2) Announcements -none 3) Liberty Ride — 2011 operations Easter /Passover had an effect on tourism. There were low numbers in the houses and on the Liberty Ride. In the future we might consider closing when Easter and Passover fall on the same day. The Liberty Ride is up and running. The new brochure has been published and distributed. The Museum is now closed on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Masha requested that we place a sign at the Museum to inform tourists that the Liberty Ride is operating on those days. Dawn ask permission from the Museum to put up a sign. Masha indicated that to date 120 charter tours have been booked through June. 4) lO season celebration It was the sense of the Committee that if we are going to have a celebration we should have it at the conclusion of the season. We should address this in the fall. 5) Tour Guide Training — Thursday, April 28 5:30 -7:30 p.m. The 5 th annual Tour Guide Training will take place this Thursday, April 28 from 5:30 — 7:30 p.m. Approximately 60 people have signed up to attend. 6) "Revolutionary Revelry" This month long celebration begins on May 1 A copy of the calendar was distributed. Events have been planned for everyday. Some run by us, others by the business or organizations involved. 7) Lexington — Concord License Plate Mr. Andrews, a citizen of Concord, has proposed having a Lexington- Concord license plate. We have not been included in the discussions and at present the proposed design would include the Concord Minute Man statue. There was no sentiment from the Committee to get involved with the proj ect.
