Tourism Committee Minutes <br />Monday, April 25, 2012 <br />Room G -15 <br />Members Present: Susan Bennett, Kerry Brandin, Bebe Fallick, Dawn McKenna, Paul O'Shaughnessy, John <br />Patrick, Lou Sideris <br />Guest: Alison Falitoco <br />Staff: Masha Traber <br />1) Review and approve minutes — <br />a) Taking minutes for this meeting — Paul O' Shaughnessy <br />b) Monday, March 22, 2010 — Mary Jo Bohart <br />c) On motion made and seconded it was voted to adopt the Minutes of February 28, 2011. <br />d) Monday, March 14, 2011 — Mary Gillespie <br />e) On motion made and seconded it was voted to adopt the Minutes of March 28, 2011 <br />2) Announcements -none <br />3) Liberty Ride — 2011 operations <br />Easter /Passover had an effect on tourism. There were low numbers in the houses and on the Liberty <br />Ride. In the future we might consider closing when Easter and Passover fall on the same day. The <br />Liberty Ride is up and running. The new brochure has been published and distributed. The Museum <br />is now closed on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Masha requested that we place a sign at the <br />Museum to inform tourists that the Liberty Ride is operating on those days. Dawn ask permission <br />from the Museum to put up a sign. Masha indicated that to date 120 charter tours have been booked <br />through June. <br />4) lO season celebration <br />It was the sense of the Committee that if we are going to have a celebration we should have it at the <br />conclusion of the season. We should address this in the fall. <br />5) Tour Guide Training — Thursday, April 28 5:30 -7:30 p.m. <br />The 5 th annual Tour Guide Training will take place this Thursday, April 28 from 5:30 — 7:30 p.m. <br />Approximately 60 people have signed up to attend. <br />6) "Revolutionary Revelry" <br />This month long celebration begins on May 1 A copy of the calendar was distributed. Events have <br />been planned for everyday. Some run by us, others by the business or organizations involved. <br />7) Lexington — Concord License Plate <br />Mr. Andrews, a citizen of Concord, has proposed having a Lexington- Concord license plate. We <br />have not been included in the discussions and at present the proposed design would include the <br />Concord Minute Man statue. There was no sentiment from the Committee to get involved with the <br />proj ect. <br />
