Town of Lexington Tourism Committee Minutes — November 1, 2010 Present: Carla Fortmann, Kerry Brandin, Bebe Fallick, Lou Sideris, Jim Shaw, Paul O' Shaughnessy, Mary Jo Bohart, Mary Gillespie, Dawn McKenna, John Patrick Guests: Fred Johnson, Richard Canale Staff: Masha Traber Minutes: 1. On Motion duly made and seconded, the Committee voted unanimously to approve the Tourism Committee meeting minutes from the following meeting dates: June 14, 2010, June 23, 2010; June 28, 2010; September 27, 2010; and October 18 2010. 2. On Motion duly made and seconded, the Committee voted unanimously to authorize the Tourism Committee to submit the Adams Art Implementation Grant to the Massachusetts Cultural Council. 3. On Motion duly made and seconded, the Committee voted unanimously to approve support of the Bicycle Committee regarding signage for the Minute Man Bikeway grant. 4. On Motion duly made and seconded, the Committee voted unanimously to approve the 2011 Town Meeting Warrant article request for $15k in marketing funds for Tourism promotion. 5. On Motion duly made and seconded, the Committee voted unanimously to approve the proposed dates of operation of the Liberty Ride for 2011 of weekends in April and May and then daily May 28 — October 30. 6. The Committee received an update on the Liberty Ride Budget, Battle Green Guides, and the Battle Green Master Plan process. The Committee also discussed Tavern Lane acceptance and next steps on this acceptance, as well as the issues of Museum closing and how it affects Liberty Ride operations. The Committee was also updated by Dawn McKenna on the partners participating in the May "Linger in Lexington" Festival. 7. We agreed that the Committee should explore ways to connect with the Paul Revere House in terms of possible join marketing and other efforts. Paul O' Shaugnessy volunteered to contact them. 8. The Committee was updated by Richard Canale on the Battle Road Scenic By -way consultation process.
