Town of Lexington <br />Tourism Committee <br />Minutes — November 1, 2010 <br />Present: Carla Fortmann, Kerry Brandin, Bebe Fallick, Lou Sideris, Jim Shaw, Paul <br />O' Shaughnessy, Mary Jo Bohart, Mary Gillespie, Dawn McKenna, John Patrick <br />Guests: Fred Johnson, Richard Canale <br />Staff: Masha Traber <br />Minutes: <br />1. On Motion duly made and seconded, the Committee voted unanimously to approve <br />the Tourism Committee meeting minutes from the following meeting dates: June 14, <br />2010, June 23, 2010; June 28, 2010; September 27, 2010; and October 18 2010. <br />2. On Motion duly made and seconded, the Committee voted unanimously to authorize <br />the Tourism Committee to submit the Adams Art Implementation Grant to the <br />Massachusetts Cultural Council. <br />3. On Motion duly made and seconded, the Committee voted unanimously to approve <br />support of the Bicycle Committee regarding signage for the Minute Man Bikeway <br />grant. <br />4. On Motion duly made and seconded, the Committee voted unanimously to approve <br />the 2011 Town Meeting Warrant article request for $15k in marketing funds for <br />Tourism promotion. <br />5. On Motion duly made and seconded, the Committee voted unanimously to approve <br />the proposed dates of operation of the Liberty Ride for 2011 of weekends in April and <br />May and then daily May 28 — October 30. <br />6. The Committee received an update on the Liberty Ride Budget, Battle Green Guides, <br />and the Battle Green Master Plan process. The Committee also discussed Tavern <br />Lane acceptance and next steps on this acceptance, as well as the issues of Museum <br />closing and how it affects Liberty Ride operations. The Committee was also updated <br />by Dawn McKenna on the partners participating in the May "Linger in Lexington" <br />Festival. <br />7. We agreed that the Committee should explore ways to connect with the Paul Revere <br />House in terms of possible join marketing and other efforts. Paul O' Shaugnessy <br />volunteered to contact them. <br />8. The Committee was updated by Richard Canale on the Battle Road Scenic By -way <br />consultation process. <br />
