Town of Lexington <br />Tourism Committee <br />Minutes of May 24, 2010 Meeting <br />Present: Susan Bennett, Kerry Brandin, Bebe Fallick, Dawn McKenna, Mary <br />Gillespie, John Patrick <br />Staff: Masha Traber <br />Selectman Liaison: Peter Kelley <br />Minutes: <br />• The minutes of March 8, 2010 and May 3, 2010 meeting were approved. <br />Information and Actions: <br />• Update to all that Munroe Tavern will close on September 1 for renovation; prior <br />to this in July and August visitors will be able to visit the archeological dig at the <br />Tavern. As visitors will not able to visit Munroe, they will receive a <br />complementary booklet on the houses and a 10% discount for the house museum <br />shops. Their ticket for Munroe also will not expire. <br />• On motion duly made and seconded, the Tourism Committee voted to petition the <br />Town to accept Tavern Lane as a Town road. <br />• On motion duly made and seconded, the Tourism Committee unanimously <br />approved the sale of blocks of Liberty Ride tickets to the Colonial Inn at the same <br />10% discount as provided to Lexington establishments <br />• Reminders to Tourism Committee members of: <br />o Table at Lexington Discovery Day <br />o Meeting June 8 regarding the possibility of MBTA Sundays service; it was <br />the sense of the Committee that it would support a Sunday evening service <br />• The Committee discussed at length the location of the Farmer's Market on <br />September 16, and it was the sense of the Committee that the market should not <br />be held in front of the Tourist office given issues with the precedent of holding <br />events in this area, lack of alignment with Battle Green Master Plan and the <br />potential complications of mud and damage to this key tourism area. <br />• Reminder to Committee about the State Ethics requirements and online training. <br />• Committee extensively reviews the latest draft of the layout and content of the <br />Visitors Guide and Map <br />Meeting adjourned at 6pm. <br />Respectively submitted, John Patrick <br />
