MINUTES <br />Greenways Corridor Committee <br />Meeting January 23, 2012, 4:30pm <br />Ellen Stone Room, Cary Hall <br />Members Present Rick Abrams, Alex Dohan, Peggy Enders, Eileen Entin, Bob Hausslein, <br />Keith Ohmart, Mike Tabaczynski <br />Members absent: Stew Kennedy, Paul Knight <br />Other Attendees: Michelle Ciccolo (Planning Board Liaison), Howie Vogel (Recreation <br />Committee Liaison) <br />1. Votes: December meeting minutes — approved <br />ACROSS subcommittee minutes 12/22/11 - approved <br />2. Current Business Review: <br />ACROSS Lexington report: (Rick, Alex) <br />• Display of map with pilot route noted as well as other potential routes <br />• Preview of presentation to selectmen scheduled for 1/30/12 <br />• At present we expect funds for signage to come from donations. Based on West <br />Lexington Greenway signage, and based on the ACROSS 5 mile pilot route with 50 signs <br />we estimate a cost of $100 /mile. <br />• Community volunteers will provide labor for signing routes. <br />• Points to consider in the future: We should provide time estimation for various modes <br />of transport along routes. How will map printing be funded? Can we provide an update at <br />Town Meeting? We may be asked to present at a transportation "summit" meeting. <br />• Action Item — ACROSS subcommittee — present to Board of Selectmen 1/30/12 <br />3. Current Business Updates: <br />a: West Lexington Gree — Keith reported on two projects. <br />• Work is ongoing for the route between Grove St and Bedford St, roughly along the <br />NStar easement, with access and possible easement from Drummer Boy. <br />• Jay Sklar has received funding through Lincoln Lab for trail development from Wood <br />St through Bates Rd, and discussions have been opened with the Conservation <br />Commission. (Cons Stewards will manage project.) <br />• Both of these projects could be completed in the next year to year- and- a-half. <br />b: OPDMD— Peggy has been working on Other Power Driven Mobility Device policyfor <br />the Bicycle Advisory Comm and has sent her current information to the BoS, as well as <br />Keith's draft OPDMD policy outline. Keith, Peggy and Stew will speak with BoS and <br />report again. <br />c: Trail Maintenance on non - conservation Town Land — No further information is <br />forthcoming at this point from town management. <br />d: Pelham Rd trail — No new information, though Stew has contacted John Livsey, Town <br />Engineer. Bob has requested further clarification of paper street particulars. <br />• Action Item — Keith /Peggy /Stew — confer w/ BoS re: OPDMD policy <br />
