LINCOLN PARK COMVEITTEE <br />Minutes for Aijgust 24, 20 <br />Present: David Williams, Chair, Lynne Wilson Nell walker Brian Ke lle y , Ed and Kri Y y, y, a s Burton. <br />Also: David Pinsonneault, Operations Manag DPW, and wend Rudner from Recreation. <br />g Y . <br />The meeting began at 7 :30 with the introduction of David Pinsonneault who has been promoted at <br />DPW. His old fob will be.filled by Chris Filadora who will work with us, and Dave 'will, ask him to <br />attend our next* meeting. He said the trees and plantings in the parking area have died for a varie <br />g p � <br />of reasons. Wes Wirth and his company have worked with the Town on design issues, especially at 0 <br />the parking lot, They will fix the drainage, improve the planting beds, install different trees, and <br />modify the water systems, aerating and irrigating the street trees. He asked if the committee will <br />help pay for this work. Nell asked' h'm if the street trees on Worthen Road could be watered. <br />Brian brought copies of the plans for the bathrooms. The agreement between Lions Club and the <br />Town has still not been signed, which is disap ointin as no donations can be made until a bank <br />p g <br />account is set up. The Building Permit must be renewed, but everything else is ready to o, He is <br />g <br />hopeful the agreement will be sign next week. He has extra plans available if anyone wants one. <br />This plan is final, and there will be no "tweaking." Recreation has seen and approved it and the <br />Building Dept. has signed off on it. <br />There followed a discussion of maintenance — who will clean the bathrooms and how often. How <br />will this. be paid for. DPW will hose it dawn first thin . every' weeWa morning, extra fun <br />g rY Y g7 s <br />r d <br />may be needed for weekends. Perhaps a small amount could be added to the charge for the fields to <br />help with the clean -up. Locks will be installed on a timer. We should add a statement to the donor <br />sign, saying 'Please Respect This Project" or words to that effect. <br />Nell praised the Boy Scouts for their 2 major p in Ma and August and said the did a `o <br />J P J Y y god.. <br />job. David will write a thank -you to the Scouts and the MinuteMan. Lussier has done alot of work" <br />on the watering system' this summer. The drainage at the Cart Path is spectacular th r n v <br />g p ate now <br />goes off to the side. Bill Brumback went to the Park yesterday to clean up invasives. The tree work <br />has opened up the views.. Nell has had a small crew of 3 towork this summer. <br />There has been a noticeable increase in the number of dogs at the Park receritl .The are rennin <br />Y. Y g <br />around ofd leash and jumping up on people. They are messing up the boardwalks, and owners are <br />not cleaning up after them. The committee all agreed that all dogs s must be leashed at all times and <br />g , <br />owners must clean up after them, Simple signs are needed ASAP and these may encourage other <br />visitors to the Park to speak - up, We will need permission to p a signs Hayden land. Th <br />p p p g on y n e <br />benches have been vandalized more this year than ever, and the graffiti has been terrible. <br />Nell sent some email pictures to Mr. Lee, showing the la ue and he is satisfied. <br />P q <br />The minutes for the June 8 meeting were accepted as written.
