NOISE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
13 December 2011
A duly posted meeting of the Noise Advisory Committee (NAC), held in the Ellen Stone
Room, Cary Hall, was called to order at 7:30 pm by Chairman Tony Galaitsis with
members Jack Maloney, Bob Earsy, Mary Hosmer Fanucci, and Planning Board liaison
Richard Canale present.
The NAC covered the topics as listed in the 12/12/11 agenda, namely:
New Members Update
Reviewed the 11 / 10/2011 membership list that was sent by Lynne Pease. A revised
list reflecting the updated composition of the NAC will be available by the next
meeting.
Minutes of previous meeting (8/9/11)
The 8/9/11 meeting minutes were reviewed and approved unanimously.
Discussion of Proposed Revisions to Committee Charge
The revised charge to the NAC, proposed by the Selectmen, was reviewed and
discussed. The main differences from the original charge were a) The suggested
reduction of members from 11 to 7, and b) The future appointment of Town Board
members to the NAC as "liaisons" only.
Given that the near -term membership is anticipated to be 5, a committee member
asked a) Whether the revised membership of 7 would require quorum would be 3 or
4, and b) Whether the revised membership wording could be "up to 7 members ". The
chairman would seek clarification on this matter.
Discussion of proposed Noise -By -Law Update
Copies of the Lexington and Belmont Noise By -Laws (NBLs) were distributed. They
were briefly skimmed and assigned as reading homework for discussion in
subsequent meetings.
The meeting was adjourned at about 8:50 pm.
Minutes submitted by Tony Galaitsis
