<br />Minutes <br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />September 29, 2011 <br />Legion Room, Cary Hall <br />Members present <br />Suzie Barry, Dick Crogan, Linda Dixon, Mary Gillespie, Jo-Anne Granger, Sondra Lucente, <br />Julie Miller, Wayne Miller, Bill Mix, Henry Murphy, Sandy Podgorski, Jim Shaw and Bob <br />Tracey <br />Members not present <br />Paul Jenkins, Charlie Price and Dave Taylor <br />Business <br /> <br />Suzie Barry called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. <br /> <br />The September 8, 2011 and September 15, 2011 minutes were accepted with <br />amendments. <br /> <br />A reminder -- those who have not taken the ethics test should do so. <br /> <br />Suzie has worked on updating committee member contact information. <br /> <br />Members’ concerns. <br />Jim Shaw was travelling in France with a Lexington group on September 8, 2011 <br />when committee elections were scheduled. He expressed disappointment this <br />evening that his name had not been placed in nomination for the vice chair <br />office despite his e-mail request to do so. During committee discussion, it was <br />clarified that while intending to send his e-mail to the entire group, Jim <br />inadvertently sent it to the chair only. The chair, whose policy it is not to make <br />any nominations, assumed that the group had received Jim’s message and chose <br />not to act on it. The committee expressed regret at this unfortunate <br />misunderstanding and encouraged him to step forward again next year. <br />Veterans’ Day 2011 <br /> <br />Suzie has received all approvals for Veterans’ Day but one; she is still waiting for <br />1 <br /> <br />
