Attachment A <br />RESPONSIBILITIES <br />The Board of Selectmen and the Town Manager call upon the Partnership, working with other <br />community agencies and organizations, to carry out certain tasks in support of this goal. These <br />include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following: <br />• Identifying local, state, and federal housing resources available to Lexington <br />• Working to enhance land use regulations and zoning bylaws to mandate or encourage a more <br />affordable housing stock <br />• Developing and modifying affordable housing strategies based on the Planning Board's <br />Comprehensive Plan: The Lexington We Want <br />• Increasing public awareness through public information and forums <br />• Locating available land and developed properties suitable for development of affordable <br />housing <br />• Working with developers of affordable housing <br />• Making recommendations on the pros and cons of particular housing proposals <br />• Advising the Selectmen and the Planning Board to aid in their decision - making process <br />PROCEDURES <br />The Partnership shall operate in accordance with the procedures contained in the Town of <br />Lexington Board and Committee Handbook. In fulfillment of this charge the Partnership will <br />forward its specific recommendations and conclusions to the Board of Selectmen. <br />Recommendations will be reviewed with the Partnership before any formal action is taken. <br />11/05/03 <br />
