TOWN OF LEXINGTON <br />TRUSTEES OF PUBLIC TRUSTS <br />Minutes of Meeting <br />April 4, 2002 <br />A meeting of the Trustees was held at 8:00 P. M. at the home of David Williams. <br />Present were Trustees Alan Fields, David Williams, Thomas Taylor, and Secretary Karen <br />Jackman. <br />The minutes of the January meeting were approved. <br />Dennis Mazzoni from the Cemetery Department was present to request money for a golf <br />cart and tamper. <br />The following requests for funds were approved: <br />1. $5000 from the Geneva Brown Fund for repair of the Battle Green Memorial <br />obelisk. <br />2. $2000 from the George Gilmore Fund for newspaper box containers. <br />3. $2500 transfer to Steve Baran, $300 fi•om the Lexington Human Services Fund <br />and $2200 from the Bridge Charitable Fund. <br />4. $1000 to the Center Committee for sununer flowers from the Eddison Blossom <br />Fund. <br />A motion by Dave for $3000 from the Gilmore Fund as seed money for the Norman <br />Cohen Scholarship Fund was not seconded. We were asked if we could provide money to <br />start a Matt Allen Scholarship Fund, and it was decided we cannot. <br />The Garden Club has directed that 100% of the income from the Smith and Emery Funds <br />to be paid to them in the future. <br />It was voted to accept the Amanda Payson Scholarship Fund with a gill of $327,000. <br />It was voted to accept the Bass /Dir i co Scholarship Fund with a gift of $10,000. <br />The Trustees reviewed the SSGA report format and Dave will request some revisions. <br />
