<br />MINUTES – LEXINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION July 12, 2011 <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioners present: Joyce Miller, Stew Kennedy, Charlie Wyman, Duke Bitsko, Dick Wolk, <br />David Langseth (8:35) <br /> <br />Commissioners Absent: Phil Hamilton, <br /> <br />Others present: Karen Mullins, Conservation Administrator; Louise Vinci, Conservation Clerk <br /> <br />Chair Joyce Miller opened the meeting at 7:30 pm in Room G-15, Town Office Building <br /> <br />7:30 pm Hearing: NOI, 9 Phillip Road, <br /> DEP# 201- 825, BL 783 <br />Present for the applicant: Mark Pamarini, Hamway Engineering <br /> Greg Shrader, Architect <br />Documentation: Notice of Intent with attachments <br /> Public Notice <br /> <br /> Mark Pamarini presented a plan to construct an addition to a school building. The <br /> proposed addition would be constructed outside of jurisdiction but associated <br /> work including reconstructed sidewalks, 5 light posts, upgraded utilities and <br /> utility lines would occur within 100 feet of bordering vegetated wetlands. <br /> <br />Comments from the Commission follow: Stew Kennedy questioned where <br />stockpile would be kept. Mr. Pamarini responded that it would be kept in the <br />parking lot outside of the one hundred foot buffer area and trucked out daily. The <br />Commission noted that they were not approving wetland line as part of this <br />project. <br /> Motion made and seconded to close hearing, 6-0 in favor. <br /> <br />7:40 pm Meeting: RDA, Arlington Reservoir, <br /> DET# 11-19 <br />Present for the applicant: Chuck Toroni, Arlington Conservation Commission <br /> David White, Town of Arlington <br />Documentation: Request for Determination of Applicability with attachments <br /> Public Notice <br /> <br /> <br /> Mr. Torini presented a plan to harvest 6-8 acres of water chestnuts from the <br /> Arlington Reservoir. During discussions Mr. Torini confirmed that no land <br /> activities would occur in Lexington. Mr. Torini explained that past harvesting had <br /> a 100% success rate but during a two-year lapse in harvesting water chestnut had <br /> grown back. <br /> Motion made and seconded to issue a negative determination with condition, 6-0 <br /> in favor. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />
