July 30, <br />Lexington High School. Peggy has agreed to be the liaison between MassBike <br />and the town. Included in the different rides planned will be a 12-mile family ride <br />within Lexington. Laurel will help Philip and Peter determine the route. Clear <br />signs are important as well as cue sheets with mileage indications on them. The <br />LBAC voted to support this event and Peggy should convey this to the selectmen. <br /> <br />Plans for Bikeway Drainage and Root Control <br /> (Update) Town Engineering <br />Division recently presented the bikeway restoration plans to the Conservation <br />Commission. The hearing will be continued. Locations to receive drainage <br />improvements are: adjacent to the DPW Compost Facility; between the two <br />crossings of North Lexington Brook beneath the bikeway near Revere Street; <br />between the Maple Street bridge and Tower Park; and behind the group of <br />businesses west of Bow Street. Root control will follow. <br /> <br />Bikeway Intersection Safety Upgrades <br /> (Update) Tabled until June. <br /> <br />Other business: <br /> <br />…A German Company has published a new magazine called “Cyclingmobility.” <br />…Grant applications for the Scenic Byway are due May 23. Ideas include a web <br />page, brochures, maps, interactive displays and kiosks. The Conservation <br />Stewards have a kiosk prototype, which costs approximately $500 for materials. <br />Stew will send specifications to Richard Canale. Locations for kiosks may include <br />Alewife, Arlington Center, Season’s Four, the Depot, the Visitor’s Center. <br /> <br />
