Lexington Human Rights Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 6, 2011 <br />Present: Albert Zabin, Bob Kent, Fuang -Ping Huang, Linda Vine, Michael McLean, <br />Emily Lavine, Leona Martin, Bonnie Brodner, Hank Manz, Melissa Buttaro, Arthur Katz <br />and Puran Dang <br />Meeting was called to order at 8:00 am. <br />April, 2011 minutes were approved as mailed <br />2011 event planning committee update: Please see the attached file. The following tasks <br />are assigned during the meeting: <br />Fuang: make a publicity list of all the media and organizations in town. <br />Hank: call the Retail Association and ask to have a table at Discovery Day for <br />LHRC <br />Linda: will reserve Carry Hall for Nov. 6, 2011 with Clark as back up venue. <br />Linda: provide project matrix for event <br />Emily volunteered for us to use part of the Human Services Dept's table to promote <br />LHRC and the 2011 event. <br />Melisa volunteered to work with the LHS on the event. And the new school committee <br />member, Bonnie Brodner also volunteered to help on the event. <br />The Police Dept, the Lexington Housing Authority and the Human Services Dept held a <br />Pedestrian Safety Panel on May 25, 2011. Approximately 70 people from the three <br />housing villages attended. The presentation was done in both English and Mandarin. <br />LHS observed National Day of Silence on April 15, 2011. A peaceful event with over <br />1000 participants. <br />No incident reported by the Police Dept. <br />Agenda for the next meeting: Board of Selectmen Goal Setting is scheduled on June 28 <br />and looking for input from the HRC. <br />Next meeting is on June 10, 2011 <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:00 am. <br />
