LEXINGTON DESIGN ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />March 6, 2011 <br />To: Board of Appeals <br />Re: 94 Hartwell Ave., Lexington, MA <br />Sign application <br />The DAC reviewed the proposed sign application at 94 Hartwell Ave. and had the following comments. <br />1. After reviewing the three sign versions for the business name sign the DAC recommend the 36" <br />x 120" version (image attached). The DAC find the other two versions too large for the <br />location. <br />2. The DAC recommends approval of the smaller logo sign over the door as proposed. <br />3. The DAC does not typically recommend internally illuminated signs including halo type lighting <br />and prefer external illumination of signs. However in this specific case the DAC found the <br />proposed halo type lighting an appropriate application and acceptable. <br />4. The DAC would like the applicant to submit a final detailed technical drawing indicating the <br />dimensions of the signs and the signs locations, all sign materials and components and sign <br />colors to the Town for final approval prior to installation. <br />The Design Advisory Committee recommends this project be approved pending compliance with <br />the recommendations noted above. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Timothy D.
