<br />Commission on Disability <br /> March 3, 2011 Meeting Minutes <br />5:45pm to 7:00 pm <br />Room G-15 Lexington Town Hall <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Members Present: Victoria Buckley, Charles Burt Cole, Janice Cyr, Garry Rhodes, Hank <br />Manz, Michael Martinetti, Julie Miller, Leonard Morse-Fortier, Janet Perry, Francine Stieglitz, <br />and Linda Vine. <br /> <br />Additional Attendees: Jennifer Williams and Chris Williams <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting Began at <br />: 6:50pm <br /> <br />Minutes for February 3, 2011 meeting approved unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1.Royal Bistro Restaurant – Garry told us the plans designed by Architectural Renovations, <br />Peter Gearhart, were reviewed by Lexington HDC and were not approved. The HDC did not <br />like ramp & sidewalk & railings. <br /> <br /> <br />a.Peter re-designed the plan so the entire sidewalk slopes instead of having a raised <br />ramp with rails and a sidewalk. He submitted three options for the COD to review; <br />all showing a sidewalk at a 1:50 slope. The COD like the 5A plan due to it having the <br />most gentle flat slope both outside and inside the building. <br /> <br />b.A motion was made by Janet Perry to accept the 5A option of the plan. Michael <br />Martinetti seconded the motion. No members opposed. <br /> <br />c.The latest design will go to HDC for approval and then to the AAB. The automatic <br />door opener was shifted to the other side as recommended by the COD. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Linda Vine discussed three options for the scope of updating Title II Transition Plan <br /> for fiscal 2012 and asked for COD recommendations. Options included: <br /> <br />a.Plan A –Public buildings in town would be surveyed relevant provisions of the ADA, <br />and ADAAG or UFAS and MAAB with suggested corrective actions and estimated <br />costs. Estimated cost of survey: $25,000 to 40,000 which will come under public <br />facilities budget. <br /> <br />b.Plan B – Public Sidewalks & curb cut survey. Estimated cost of survey is $15,000 to <br />20,000 which will come under Dept of Public Works. <br /> <br />c.Plan C – Programs, Activities & Services - ie. Sr. Center trips, Transportation, etc. <br />Estimated cost of survey is not listed <br /> <br />d.COD discussion led to recommendation to accept Plan A <br /> <br />e.Motion to accept Plan A made by Janice Cyr and motion was seconded by Michael <br />Martinetti with no members opposed. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
