Lexington Human Rights Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 18, 2009 <br />Present: Gerald McLeod, Joseph O'Leary, Hank Manz, Bob Kent, Linda Vine, Fuang- <br />Ying Huang, Albert Zabin, Emily Lavine, and Deborah Jackson <br />Guests: Connie Rawson, Kathy Quinlan <br />Meeting at RmI l l — Town Hall was called to order at 8:OOAM <br />The committee decided on frameworks for the program: <br />1. Panel Discussion: possible invite keynote speakers; <br />*Senator John Kerry — Bob to approach Representative Jay Kaufman <br />*Historian Doris Goodwin — Invite from BOS <br />*Historian Henry Lois Gates Jr.? <br />2. Lexington Read: at the library to start in late spring, 2010. <br />3. Oral history recordings: Deb and Melissa will work with LHS students and <br />the local participants. <br />Police report: <br />1. On August 15 there was an assault and battery case involving young adults <br />investigation underway, no determination if meets the criteria for a hate crime. Update <br />will be provided at the October meeting. <br />2. A woman files a complaint with MCAD about a Lexington police. <br />The next committee meeting is scheduled on Friday, October 16th, 2009 at 8:00 AM. <br />Location is to be determined. <br />
