Lexington Human Rights Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 12, 2010 <br />Present: Albert Zabin, Gerald McLeod, Joseph O'Leary, Melissa Buttaro, Bob Kent, <br />Linda Vine, Fuang -Ping Huang, Emily Lavine, Deborah Jackson, Puran Dang, and <br />Manny Ferro. <br />Guest: Connie Rawson, Kathy Quinlan, Cary Library <br />Meeting was called to order by Chair Al Zabin <br />Minutes of the February meeting were accepted as presented. <br />Lexington Reads Update was given by Connie Rawson and Kathy Quinlan. The program <br />Home Town —Our Town was presented and materials distributed Carry Library presents <br />"Home Town — Our Town" in March, a series of events including display of Home Town <br />Heroes postcards submitted by residents and "What's that Building" contest. <br />Program Planning - Linda has secured Cary Hall for Thursday, Nov 4 and Sunday, Nov <br />21 for the event, and will revise event tasks list for the next meeting. <br />Deb suggested a possible part four or stand alone event in the future for Civil Right - <br />Housing issues in Lexington. <br />Emily Lavine - Human Services Department Update - Bulling and Cyber bulling on <br />May 13, and host a teen Karaoke night on May 27 at Carry Hall. <br />Captain O'Leary - Police department - no reports of hate crime since last meeting and <br />has not heard from Westborough Baptist Church regarding Patriot's Day visit. <br />Linda mentioned that The Tea Party has requested to participate in Patriot's Day and we <br />should have further update at the April meeting. <br />Melissa Buttaro announced the Day of Silence at LHS is scheduled on Wednesday, April, <br />14 tH <br />Next meeting is scheduled for Friday, April 9th, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. in Room 207. <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:00 am. <br />
