k� <br />O w <br />APNIL I9'" <br />Lexington Human Rights Committee Minutes <br />July 30, 2010 <br />8:00 a.m. <br />Room 207— Town Hall Office Building <br />Members in Attendance: Melissa Buttaro, Al Zabin, Bob Kent, Gerry McLeod, Joe <br />O'Leary, Emily Levine, Puran Dang, Linda Vine <br />Selectmen Liaison: Hank Manz <br />Special Guest: Craig Hall <br />Chair called the meeting to order and introduced Craig Hall, Director of Community <br />Education. Mr. Hall was invited to provide his input as to how the LHRC could enhance <br />the educational programs planned for the fall. He offered his assistance to market the <br />programs and gave us the deadline for his fall catalogue production 8/5. He suggested a <br />defined focus possibly offering the Lexington Green Program first in October or November <br />and the Civil Rights in January. <br />It was suggested that both films be shown (Unfinished Symphony and Struggle for the <br />Green) but that we edit to keep the program with -in a two hour timeframe. Craig offered <br />to help with this process. <br />The LHRC agreed to this scheduling of events with the first program on Sunday, <br />November 21 at Cary Hall. Al Zabin will work with Mr. Hall to draft a paragraph for the <br />Community Education Catalogue. <br />The group also would like to invite Elise Lemire as a local scholar to participate. Al Zabin <br />will invite her to the 11/21 event. <br />Bob Kent will continue to work on Senator Kerry's participation, but given his schedule we <br />might not know until much closer to November 21. <br />Melissa Buttaro will work with the HS to promote the program along with Mr. Hall. Both <br />had some specific suggestions for outreaching to the HS students. <br />No reports from the Police or Human Services Departments. <br />
