Lexington Human Rights Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />December 3, 2010 <br />Present: Albert Zabin, Bob Kent, Melissa Buttaro, Jessie Steigerwald, Fuang -Ping <br />Huang, Detective McLean, Puran Dang <br />Meeting was called to order at 8:05 am. <br />Minutes were approved as mailed <br />The "Peace, Protest, and Patriotism " program went well on Nov. 21. Some members <br />felt the attendance may have been better if the event was held in October. <br />The committee decided not to participate in MLK events and to put a program for late <br />October, 2011. Possible topic includes Lexington Civil Right Committee. <br />Al will send the final draft Anti - Muslim bigotry statement to the board of selectman for <br />approval. Jessie suggested and volunteered to draft a separate letter to the Minuteman to <br />promote HRC and diversity as well as address racial issues in Lexington. <br />HRC currently has a link on Lexington's town website with contact information. It was <br />suggested to post announcement and current events on HRC's webpage and to have <br />general contact info for residents to leave anonymousness tips. HRC can also utilize the <br />site to survey residents' concerns <br />Next meeting is scheduled on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. in Room 207. <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:55 am. <br />
