The planning meeting with all departments, including Lex Media, but not the Fire

Department, was held last week. There are no major changes for Patriots’ Day.

Dick Crogan contacted Lee Ann Swanson at LHS to ask for six to twelve student

volunteers for the day. (Students will earn community service hours.) The committee
discussed where the students might be assigned, and suggestions were made as to
other groups we might contact for volunteers.

Sondra Lucente will call Mahoney’s Garden Center as to their participation.

The Munroe Center for the Arts is interested in participating.

Linda Dixon recommended wider use of the committee website for next year,

including online registrations. Suzie will talk with Candy McLaughlin, Assistant to the
Town Manager, about possibilities for expanding the capabilities of the committee
website.

Suzie Barry will contact Candy about posting the banner bearer form this year for online sign up.

Since the Dana Home has closed, a suggestion was made to move the “All Bands Play

Here” sign from the Dana Home site to a point forward, closer to St. Brigid’s.

Paul Jenkins asked if money is available in the budget to accommodate including trucks

in the afternoon parade again this year.

Motions were made and unanimously accepted to

accept the applications received from the no cost groups as participants.

accept the applications received from the groups for pay at either the same fee as last

year or less.

Additional discussion

Suzie Barry and Bob Tracey will contact the groups requesting more money.

We will accept the Mt. Pleasant Area High School Band, Mt. Pleasant, PA, application to

march and see about paying them.

Jim Shaw reports that the Reminisents is definitely interested in participating. The John

Penney Band is also interested, but the group needs a driver. Paul Jenkins will see if he
can arrange for this.

The LHS Band application was submitted without a fee request. The committee

discussed increasing last year’s amount a little more. Suzie Barry will speak with Jeff
Leonard.

Meeting adjourned at 8:40 pm.

Respectfully submitted,
Sandy Podgorski
