<br />Minutes <br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />November 18, 2010 <br />Ellen Stone Room, Cary Hall <br /> <br />Members present <br />Suzie Barry, Linda Dixon, Jo-Anne Granger, Julie Miller, Wayne Miller, Sandy Podgorski, Dave Taylor and <br />Bob Tracey <br /> <br />Members not present <br /> Dick Crogan, Mary Gillespie, Paul Jenkins, Sondra Lucente, Bill Mix, Henry Murphy, Charlie Price, John <br />Rossi and Jim Shaw <br /> <br />Business <br /> <br />Suzie Barry called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. <br /> <br /> <br />Approval of the November 4, 2010 minutes was tabled. <br /> <br /> <br />Veterans’ Day, Thursday, November 11, 2010 <br />Feedback <br /> <br />Additional No Parking signs need to be posted in the vicinity of the Massachusetts Avenue, <br /> <br />Bedford Street and Harrington Road area. <br /> <br />We need to do a better job of escorting event participants to the podium. <br /> <br /> <br />Assign someone to help raise and lower the microphone for the speakers. <br /> <br /> <br />Ask if Wilson Farm would be willing to donate an additional dozen flowers (totaling five dozen), <br /> <br />due to the increasing number of veterans attending the ceremony. <br /> <br />Suzie mentioned that in years past, at the conclusion of the ceremony, the parade marched back <br /> <br />to the step off point followed by a small reception. She will look into doing this again. <br /> <br />Patriots’ Day, Monday, April 18, 2011 <br /> <br />Applications are still coming in. <br /> <br /> <br />Linda will ask if the Tufts ROTC group would like to participate in the afternoon parade. <br /> <br /> <br />Linda is looking for a contact at the National Guard. <br /> <br /> <br />Jeanne Krieger will be chief marshal of the afternoon parade. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
