<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />APPROVED MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br /> <br />Committee Name: Lexington Bicycle Advisory Committee <br /> <br />Date, Time and Location of Meeting: <br />November 18, 2010, 7 pm, Room G15, <br />Town Office Building <br /> <br />Members Present: <br />Stew Kennedy, John Frey, Marita Hartshorn, Jerry Van <br />Hook, George Gagliardi, Laurel Carpenter, Bob Hausslein (FoLB Chair). , Mike <br />Tabaczynski, Sandra Shaw (Recreation Committee Liaison) <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> Richard Spencer, Margaret Stebbins, Dick Brown (Center <br />Committee) <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> Peggy Enders (LBAC Chair), Peter Kelley, (Selectmen’s <br />Liaison), Richard Canale, (Planning Board Liaison), <br /> <br />Minutes <br />: The October 2010 minutes were accepted as corrected. <br /> <br />Photo for Annual Report <br />: Dave Tabeling took our picture. <br /> <br />Planning Board Hearing on Hartwell Ave: <br /> Laurel and Stew spoke on behalf of <br />the LBAC. The next hearing is in February <br /> <br />Guidelines on Bikeway Use <br />: Peggy and George met with Norman Cohen, who <br />had asked for assistance in assembling Bikeway rules for the Selectmen’s policy <br />and procedures manual. It was agreed that LBAC would draft a document for <br />use by LBAC as well as by the Selectmen in making decisions about events, <br />signage, etc. George said that our goal would be to minimize the impact on <br />everyday users of the Bikeway. He will put together a draft to be reviewed at our <br />next meeting. <br /> <br />Farmer’s Market <br />: Sandra Shaw asked us to consider requesting a bike rack at <br />the farmer’s market when we do the next round of requests from the MAPC. <br /> <br />DCR Grant Application <br />: Peggy has submitted the DCR recreational trails grant <br />application on behalf of Arlington, Lexington and Bedford for the design and <br />production of a new Bikeway map as well as the development of a plan for <br />improving user information on and near the Bikeway. <br /> <br />Lexington Center Committee Proposed “Bikeway Nodes” <br />: Dick Brown <br />described a project being undertaken by the physical infrastructure subgroup of <br />the Center Committee to improve the Lexington Center portion of the Bikeway <br /> <br />
