s! &Z ■ <br />3 <br />3 <br />Selectmen's Meeting Minutes <br />March 4, 1996 ; <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Monday, March 4, 1996 in the <br />Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town office Building at 7:30 p.m. Chairman McSweeney, Mr. <br />Dailey, Mr. Busa, Mr. Fenn, Mrs. Eddison; Mr. Cohen, Town Counsel; Mr. white, Town <br />Manager; and Ms. Smith, Executive Clerk, were present. <br />Public Comments <br />Jack Cole Fund <br />Bea MacDonald, Chair of the Jack Cole Fund, expressed the heartfelt thanks from the Cole family <br />and Jack himself for the tremendous outpouring of support for the Fund. They have raised <br />$140, 000 with 40 gifts of $1,000, have received gifts from every church, $500 from the Grey <br />Nuns and are planning an Auction on March 15 for which they have already received many <br />pledges. Judy Cole was also present to express the deep gratitude of the family for the Town's <br />support during their very difficult and challenging time. She relayed Jack's comments -- <br />unbelievable. <br />Ste hen Tri i - Patrick Buchanan Protest Rall <br />Mr. Tripi expressed his concern over the use of the P.A. System at the high school to arrange a <br />protest rally during the visit of Presidential Candidate Patrick Buchanan. Board members <br />indicated this was the first they heard of the incident. <br />Consent Agenda <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to ratify a poll vote of the Board taken on <br />Tuesday, February 27 for use of the Battle Green on Saturday, March 2, 1996 by Candidate for <br />President of the United States Pat Buchanan. <br />Report on Privatization Plans of Hanscom <br />Mr. Fenn reported that Massport has abandoned its plans to privatize Hanscom which he termed <br />as a welcome and wise decision. The four towns will be meeting again on Saturday. <br />Revenue officer Bond <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to fix the suns of the Local official Bond for <br />Revenue officer Maureen Valente in the amount of one Hundred Ninety Thousand Dollars. <br />
