4 <br />S electmen's Meeting Minutes <br />December 4, 1995 <br />6 0 - 2 4 7 f�- <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Monday, December 4 1995 in the <br />Selectmeds Meeting Room, Town office Building at 7:30 p.m. Mr. McSweeney, Mr. Dailey, <br />Mr. Fenn, Mrs. Eddison; Mr. white, Town Manager; Mr. Cohen, Town Counsel and Ms. Smith, <br />Executive Clerk, were present. <br />Classification of Commerc Propert <br />Mr. McSweeney opened the Classification Bearing continued from the meeting of November 27, <br />1995 Board of Assessors members Jackson, Harmon and Robinson and Town Assessor Janet <br />vacon explained the options open to the Board in setting the commercial/industrial/personal <br />property factor. - They indicated that the factor for the current fiscal year is 1.700 and that the <br />maximum C/I/P factor is 1.750. They are seeing a lot of redevelopment and that trend should be <br />favorable. However the CHIP is still increasing at a slower rate than the residential. <br />Board members expressed concern for older people on fixed income living in older homes whose <br />assessments are going up and looked forward to a report from the Business Committee. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to keep the C/I/P factor at 1:700. <br />Traffic Sa Ut Committee <br />Peter Chalpin, Chairman of the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee reviewed several platters <br />brought up at the meeting of the committee on September 13, 1995. <br />Bertwell Road - "Caution Children" Si ns <br />Mrs. Lucy Rozier of 44 Bertwell Road requested "Caution Children" signs on Bertwell Road. <br />Since the warrants for "Caution Children" signs are satisfied in this case the Committee <br />recommends approval of Mrs. Rozier's request. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the recommendation of the <br />Traffic Safety Advisory Committee to install four "Caution Children" signs, one across from #8, <br />one at #51, one at #44 and-one at #84 Bertwell Road. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it <br />was voted to adjourn at 8 p.m. <br />Massachusetts Avenue - "Blind Driveway Sig <br />Mrs. Margo Schmidt of 2678 Mass. Avenue requested that a "Blind Driveway" sign be installed <br />on Massachusetts Avenue eastbound at the end of the Route 128 bridges <br />
