60° -187 <br />Selectmen's Meeting <br />May 1, 1995 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of S electmen was held on Monday, May 1, 1995 in the <br />Selectmen's Meeting room, Town office Building at 7:30 p.m. Chairman Dailey, Mr. <br />McSweeney, Mr. 'Busa, Mr. Fenn, Mrs. Eddison; Mr. white, Town Manager; Mr. Cohen, <br />Town Counsel and Ms. Smith, Executive Clerk were present. <br />Muzzey Trustees <br />Mr. white was asked to explain the provisions of the Muzzey documents with particular <br />emphasis on the back part of the parking lot which leads to the bike path and whether the <br />fence which has been constructed blocking access to the bikeway is prohibited in the original <br />plans. Mr. white indicated that it appeared that the original documents provided for a <br />pathway to the bike path in the back rear corner of the property. Mr. Dailey recognized Ms. <br />Talbot of the Muzzey Trustees. The concern expressed by unit owners was over the pathway <br />leading to the bike path. Many unit owners expressed concern over vandalism and personal <br />security and felt that the closing of the gate helped alleviate their concerns. However, the <br />Town Manager explained that one unit owner contested that the agreements made when the <br />school was converted provided for the pathway leading to the bike path. <br />An alternate pathway to the bike path was discussed and the 'Town Manager was asked to <br />report back to the Board within two weeks concerning an alternate pathway. <br />Lexina ton .. Bicycle Safety .Awareness Darr <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to designate May 13, 1995 as Bicycle <br />Safety Awareness Day in Lexington. <br />Care -A. -Lot and flay It Safe Dam <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to designate May 20, 1995 Care -A. -Lot <br />and Play it Safe Day in Lexington contingent upon satisfactory nvesti <br />� g ation of the <br />proponents non profit tax status by the Town Manager. <br />New England Te l ep hone oston Edison Grant of Location Concord Avenue <br />Itp <br />Mr. Dailey opened a public hearing on the joint petition of New England Telephone and <br />Boston Edison for permission to construct and locate a line of conduits and manholes with the <br />necessary wires and cables therein under Concord Avenue starting at existing pole #94/65 <br />located on the northern side of road, 187 feet west of Da iptori' Road, place approximately 6' <br />plus or minus of conduit in a northerly direction to p rivate wa y at Schoolhouse Lane. <br />There being no questions, the Chairman declared the hearing closed. <br />
