SI <br />Selectmen's Meeting <br />July 11, 1994 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Monday, July l l , l 994 in the <br />Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town office Building at 7:30 p.m. Chairman Dailey, Mr. <br />McSweeney, Mr. Fenn, Mrs. Eddison; Mr. Cohen, Town Counsel; Mr. white, Town Manager; <br />Mrs. Novak, Assistant Town Manager; and Ms. Smith, Executive Clerk were present. <br />Retir ement School Crossing Guard Edith Petterson <br />Mr. McSweeney opened the meeting and recognized retired Edith Petterson for her 43 years <br />of service to the Town as a school crossing guard. Mr. McSweeney presented a Paul Revere <br />Bowl to Ms. Petterson on behalf of the Town. <br />7:40 .rn. Public Hearin a Boston Edison - 82 Cary Avenue <br />Mr. McSweeney opened the public hearing on the petition of Boston Edison for the <br />installation of conduit at 82 Cary Avenue. <br />A representative of Boston Edison requested permission for the installation of about to feet <br />of conduit at 82 Cary Avenue. This installation is necessary as the customer is changing <br />from an overhead feed to an underground feed. <br />E Mr. McSweeney noted the favorable recommendation for approval of the petition in a <br />memorandum dated June 30, i .994 from Francis Fields, Acting Public works Director. There <br />were no questions or comments from the Board or the audience and Mr. McSweeney declared <br />the hearing closed. <br />[upon rnotion dul made and seconded, it was voted to approve the petition, plans and order <br />fora Giant of Location for conduit to be placed in Cary Avenue. <br />Auditors, Deloitte & Touche <br />Mr. white explained to the Board the reports that the auditors are required to file with the <br />Board. Mr. Ryan introduced Jinn Curry, Partner, in charge of International Government <br />Auditing Branch, and Rick Allen, Manager for Lexington audit for the past few years. They <br />reviewed their reports with the Board. They explained the new requirements by the Federal <br />Government to provide a report to the Board of Selectmen on what tlzeh responsibilities are <br />as auditors versus management and how they proceed with the audit. The auditors expressed <br />their thanks and praise of the work of Lexington's accounting ffice and practices. <br />g P <br />Battle Green Guide Licenses <br />The Beard reviewed a rnerno from Director of Guides S. Lawrence Whipple dated June 30, <br />1.994 proposing the following individuals qualified to receive licenses for the 1994 season to <br />allide visitors around the Battle Green. <br />
