The members offered the following comments:
• Change the word "engineering (firm)" to "consulting."
• Make infrastructural improvements (for efficiency or safety) a little more prominent.
• Prepare for the Board a schedule for the procurement process, including the consultant
interviews, at which one to two members might participate.
• Correct a few typos.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** ARTICLES FOR 2002 TOWN MEETING * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * **
Mr. Patrick Mehr, town meeting member, joined the meeting and asked to speak or ask questions on
technical matters pertaining to the house impact review, article 20. He asked about the discrepancy
between the gross floor area figures on building permit applications and the Assessor's database. Mr.
Garber explained that the building permit figures were estimates provided by the builder entirely for
purposes of estimating fees, and were not checked (this is how it has to be done, as a practical matter, in
every community). The Assessor's data is field- measured. Mr. Mehr asked how the town would verify the
GFA if article 20 had passed, Mr. Garber replied that a system would have to be worked out with the
Building Commissioner.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm for town meeting N
Sara B. Chase, Clerk
