PLANNING BOARD MINUTES <br />MEETING OF MARCH 26, 2003 <br />The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board held in. the Carpenter Room of the National Heritage <br />Museum, was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Vice Chairman Harden with members Chase, Davies, <br />Kastorf and planning staff Garber and McCall - Taylor present. <br />Mr. Galaitsis recused himself for the first item of business, the discussion of Article 21 <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** <br />ARTICLES FOR 2003 TOWN MEETING * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** <br />Article 21 40B Comprehensive Permit — Discussion of this article was continued. Mr. Andy Freidlich . <br />spoke to the Board and reported that he had meet with Bob Sacco, chair of the Board of Appeals. Mr. <br />Freidlich said that he would remove all mention of the Plant Action proposal and the proceedings of the <br />last year from his presentation at Town Meeting. There was further discussion of the article but no <br />agreement was reached on what action, if any, to take. Consideration of the article will be continued in <br />hopes of being able to reach a consensus position. <br />Mr. Galaitsis joined the meeting <br />RECOMMENDATIONS ON APPLICATIONS TO THE BOARD OF APPEALS <br />Ms. Chase briefly reviewed the following petitions scheduled to be heard on March 27, 2003: <br />A 1253 Massachusetts Avenue — Season Four Renewal of special permit to operate a nursery <br />and retail garden center and sell Christmas trees and wreaths <br />■ 67 Simonds Road —Variance from rear setback for an addition to a single- family dwelling <br />® 109 Massachusetts Avenue -- The Powers Music School — Special permit for a standing sign <br />■ 1556 Massachusetts Avenue — Variance and special pennit from dimensional controls to <br />construct addition to single - family swelling. <br />■ 6 Hancock Avenue — Variance from front and side yard setbacks for an addition to a single - <br />family dwelling <br />m 20 Maple Street Special Permit to construct additions over a nonconforming portion of a <br />single - family dwelling <br />The Board agreed that they had no comments, except to express concern for the abutter to the rear of the <br />Simonds Road property who would be most affected by the addition. <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** PLANNING DIRECTOR'S REPORT * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** <br />Mr. Garber said in the interests of time he did not have a report. Ms. McCall - Taylor reported that Jeanne <br />Krieger would be doing an update on Met State for Town Meeting and that would be done on the evening <br />that the Planning Board did their housing presentation. <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** :PLANNING BOARD ORGANIZATION, SCHEDULE * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** <br />Board members agreed to hold a public hearing on the definitive subdivision application for Scottish Glen <br />on May 21. <br />On a motion duly made and seconded, the Board voted unanimously to adjourn at 7:55 p.m <br />K r .
