<br />PLANNING BOARD MINUTES <br />MEETING OF MARCH 22, 2010 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was held in the Planning Office, Town Office <br />Building, and called to order at 6:05 p.m. by Chairman Zurlo with members Canale, Hornig and Manz, <br />planning staff Henry and McCall-Taylor present. Mr. Galaitsis was absent. <br />*************************TOWN MEETING WARRANT********************************* <br /> <br />Article 41, Center Zoning: The motion that will be before Town Meeting will only deal with projecting <br />signs in the Center Business District. On a motion duly made and seconded, the Board voted to reopen <br />their vote on this matter and then, on a motion duly made and seconded, the Board voted, 4-0, to support <br />Article 41 allowing blade signs as of right in the Center Business District. <br /> <br />The members reviewed the Town Meeting recommendations and motions. They also looked at the non- <br />zoning articles that had not been reviewed previously. There were no additional articles that the Board <br />wanted to take a stand on at this time. It was agreed that they would revote their recommendation on <br />Article 32, the citizen article on establishing a Climate Change Committee, on the floor of Town Meeting <br />when they had a chance to see the final motion. The Board had previously voted 2-1 in favor, with Mr. <br />Canale and Mr. Zurlo in the affirmative and Ms. Manz in the negative. <br /> <br />Article 43, RD-5 rezoning amendment; Countryside Manor, Woburn Street: Mr. Hornig wanted to make <br />sure the Board’s recommendation to Town Meeting made clear that the Fair Housing Act prohibits <br />discrimination against school-aged children as discrimination based on familial status <br />****************************ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS**************************** <br />Lexington Technology Park - Mr. Canale recused himself from the consideration of this matter as he is an <br />abutter to an abutter. Mr. Zurlo said he had attended the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) hearing on the <br />Definitive Site Development and Use Plan for Lexington Technology Park and the special permit with <br />site plan review for the 200 Building. He outlined to the ZBA the matters that the Planning Board had <br />called out in their report on the rezoning to Town Meeting. It was not clear that the Noise Committee had <br />reached a resolution on the baseline issue. Board members were asked to review the application for <br />further discussion at Wednesday’s meeting. <br /> <br />At 7:00 p.m., on a motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to recess to the Town Meeting and <br />adjourn when the session of Town Meeting adjourned. <br />Charles Hornig, Acting Clerk <br /> <br />
