f <br />i <br />p <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />17 <br />June 6, 1988 V w <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Monday, <br />June 6, 1988, in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town Office Building, at <br />7:30 p.m. Chairman Eddison, Mr. Marshall, Mr. Dailey, Mrs, Smith, Mr. <br />McSweeney; Mr. White, Town Manager; Mr, Cohen, Town Counsel; Mrs. Snow, <br />Executive Clerk, were present. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 5 - 4 by roll call <br />vote, Mr. Eddison, Mr. Marshall, Mr. Dailey, Mrs, Smith, Mr. McSweeney, <br />to go into Executive Session for discussion of matters of litigation, <br />with the intent to resume open session. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to resume open <br />session at 7:50 p.m. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, EDISON, HARTWELL AVENUE /WOOD STREET <br />Mr. Eddison opened a public hearing on the petition of Boston <br />Edison Company for grant of location for 2.765 ft. of conduit and 5 <br />manholes in Hartwell Avenue and for 145 ft, of conduit in Wood Street. <br />Carol McManus, representing the Edison Company, explained that the <br />work is necessary due to the installation of a second line to a new <br />station at MIT Lincoln Lab. <br />There being no comments in favor or in opposition, Mr. Eddison <br />declared the hearing closed. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the <br />petition, plan and orders of Boston Edison Company for grant of location <br />* for conduit northeasterly from Wood Street and running northerly a <br />distance of 2,765 ft. and permission to build manholes 25793, 25794, <br />25795, 25796, and 25797 northeasterly from Wood Street and running <br />northerly in Hartwell Avenue, and to install approximately 145 ft. of <br />conduit in Wood Street, at and southerly from Hartwell Avenue. <br />SEWER SYSTEM REHABILITATION <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to authorize the <br />Town Manager to act on behalf of the Town as its agent in filing <br />applications for, executing agreements regarding, and performing any and <br />all other actions necessary to secure for the Town such grants for the <br />design and construction of sewage treatment facilities as may be made <br />available to the Town pursuant to the provisions of the Mass. Clean <br />Waters Act or other special Act of the General Court for the following <br />facilities: <br />Contract 87 -1 Wastewater Collection System Improvements <br />Sewer System Rehabilitation <br />Project No. WPC 1 212 -1 <br />00ft $205,560.00 <br />BURLINGTON LANDLOCKED PARCEL <br />Mr. White referenced a letter dated May 13th, received from Richard <br />Gladstone, Burlington Town Administrator, requesting Lexington and <br />Bedford's assistance in Burlington's efforts to purchase a landlocked <br />parcel in Burlington, bordering those two towns. <br />
