t s: <br />a <br />Y C <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />y <br />May 4, 1987 <br />A regular meetit" of the Board of Selectmen was held on Monday, <br />May 4, 1987, in the Selectmen's Meeting Rohm, Town Office Building, at <br />7:00 p.m. Chairman Eddison, Mr. Marshall, Mr. Dailey, Mr. McSweeney; <br />Mr. Hutchinson, Town Manager; Ms. Adler, Asst. to the Town Manager: <br />Mfrs. Snow, Executive Clerk, were present. <br />TOWN MEETING AGENDA <br />The Chairman outlined the order of activities proposed for that <br />evening's session of Town Meeting and listed transparencies to be <br />shown. There were no objections to the plan. <br />TRANSFER FROM RESERVE FUND <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve <br />transf from the Reserve Fund to following accounts <br />To: Acct. - #01-061-102-5307 Board of Appeals $ 500.00 <br />Acct. #103 -103 Fire Department 69,900000 <br />Acct. #01-115-5270 Out-of-State Travel $ 500.00 <br />DRAINAGE AT MUZZEY <br />�.. <br />Mr. Hutchinson requested authorization for Lei: HAB to release funds <br />for payment to Tocci for extra drainage work at the Muzzey High Condo, <br />explaining that this procedure had been previously agreed upon. <br />-Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to authorize the <br />Lexington Housing Assistance Board to release funds in the amount of <br />$3,124.21 for payment to Tocci for extra drainage work at the Muzzey <br />High Condo, <br />PLAYING FIELD MUZZEY <br />A request from the Muzzey High Condo Association for Town <br />maintenance of the playing field, owned by the Town, which abuts the <br />facility and that the Association be released from that responsibility. <br />Mrs. Daudet, LexHAB member, explained that condo fees could be <br />kept down under this arrangement. Mrs. Marshall, Chairman of the <br />Recreation Committee, noted that the field can he assigned with parking <br />restrictions. <br />Upon motion duly Made and seconded, it was voted to resume Town <br />responsibility for maintenance of the playing field at the Muzzey High <br />Condominium, <br />APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS SCHOOL SYSTEM <br />Mr, Hutchinson explained the need of the School Department for <br />additional funds in the amount of $70,000, due to increased tuition <br />payments for special needs pupils. He proposed that $50,000. of the <br />funds he requested from f ree cash under Article 6, rather than <br />depleting the $83,000 left in the Reserve Fund, upon which there are <br />other demands. The remaining $20,000 could he handled by the Reserve <br />Fund and would leave a small balance for unexpected emergencies. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to request <br />funding in the amount of $50,000, to cover unanticipated costs of the <br />School Department relative to tuition for special needs pupils. <br />
