SELECTMEN' MEETING <br />f' April 1, 1987 <br />a <br />A reg ular meet- of the Board of Selectmen was held on <br />� - � Meeting ���m <br />Wednesday, April 1, 1997, in the Sele ctmen's Me r Town <br />Office.Building, at 7:90 p.m. Chairman Eddison, Mr. Marshall, Mr. <br />Dailey, Mrs. Smith, Mr. McSweeney; Mr. Hutchinson, Town Manager; <br />Mr. Cohen, Town Counsel; Ms. Adler, Asste to the Town Manager; <br />Mrs. Snow, Executive Clerk, were present. <br />ARTICLE 9 HILL REVERE BEDFORD ST* TRAFFI SIGNALS <br />Mr. Hutchinson informed the Board that although contractors <br />had picked up the specifi for the traffic s ignal at <br />Hill Street , Request for Proposals and no <br />interested bidders have responsed to date. <br />The Manager recommended that Mr. Eddison request <br />postponement to April 27, by which time it is hoped that bids will <br />have been rece ived. Part "B" under Article 9, funds for Bridge <br />School repairs, could also be dealt w ith on the 27th, when <br />informational material has been submitted <br />BUDGET STRATEGY <br />Regarding the School budget request, Mr. O'Sullivan will <br />propose an amendment to split the $9OO,00O shortfall between <br />school and articles. Mr. Eddison will propose that cuts of <br />$50 from Water Mains and $100,000 from Street Improvements be <br />made and he felt confident that the compromise would pass. <br />APPOINTMENT TO LEXINGTON CENTER COMMITTEE <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to appoint <br />Edward B. Barsamian, 39 Old Colony Rd., Arlington, to the <br />Lexington Center Committee to fill the unexpired term of <br />Christopher H. Venier, to September 34, 19979 <br />SENIOR CENTER HEAT <br />Mr. Eddison reported that in response to comments f rom Town <br />Meeting members, he has asked James Scanlon, Chairman of the <br />Energy Conservation Committee, to review the report of - Energy, <br />heating consultants, on the heating problem at the Senior Center. <br />He noted, also, that major leaks had developed in the roof, which <br />will need attention. <br />Mr. McSweeney felt that Mr. Scanlon should be made aware that <br />the heat f the common area rises and heats other space in the <br />complex and suggested that the Condominium Association be <br />consulted about the matter. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn <br />at 7:46 p.m. <br />A true record, Attest: a Zn n i <br />Executive, Clerk <br />
