y F <br />0 <br />SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br />October 7, 19$5 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen . was held on Monday, <br />w October 7, 1985, in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town office Building, <br />at 7:30. p ,m. Chairman Marshall`, Mr. McLaughlin, Mr. Eddison, Mr. Dailey; <br />Mr . Hutchinson,. Town Manager; Mr. Cohen, Town Counsel; Ms. Adler,, <br />Assistant to the Town Manager; Mrs. Snow, Executive Clerk., were present. <br />Mrs. Judith Marshall, President of the League of Women Voters, was L,W,V. <br />present for discussion of. the Hazardous Household Waste Collection, initi - Hazardous <br />ated by the League and scheduled for October 19th 's waste <br />Mrs. Marshall informed the Board that although collection costs in Collection <br />P years ears had been only slightly over the . amount appropriated, it has <br />been evidenced by bids received for this year's collection that the deficit <br />will be fairly substantial $ She noted that a State program for funding of <br />' such ro j ects low exists, but that the amount to be awarded would not be <br />known until late winter. She asked for sources of town funding in the inter- <br />tmp to allow for payment to the collection firm. She reported on increased <br />awareness of townspeople of -the waste collection, although full participation <br />has not been attained as - yet Continuance of the $4.00 fee for amounts over <br />5 gallons is anticipated. <br />Mr. Hutchinson said that funds , for a short term. transfer would be avail- - <br />ab le i n' the operating . Account, Refuse. Collection, going then to either the <br />upcoming Special Town Meeting or the 1986 Annual Town Meeting. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve provision <br />of a ddi.t Tonal funding for the 1985 Hazardous Household Waste Collection. <br />upon motion duly made and seconded,', it was voted to approve minutes of Minutes. <br />the Selectmen's Meeting on September 9, 1955, as presented. Mr. McLaughlin, 9/9/85 <br />absent from that meeting, abstained from voting. <br />Upon motion duly - made and seconded, it was voted to call a Special Town Special. Towa <br />Meeting on December 2, 1985, in Cary Memorial Hall at 8 :00 p.m. Mtg. 12/2 <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to close the Warrant for <br />the Special Town Meeting on October 21 , 1985, at 4:30 p .m . Warrant <br />John Maloney, representing the Traff is Saf ety Advisory Committee, was T . S . A. C . <br />present f o r ' re•view of that Committee's reports to the Selectmen on traffic Reports <br />items. <br />The Committee's recommendations on -Robert Trask' s suggested "no left Turn' <br />regul. tion at the - Dunkin ,:Donuts exit on Mar.rett Road was reviewed. The Trask, <br />Gem ttee' had :concurred that al though t r af f is f rom and to Dunkin ]Donuts - .c.An: Dunkin Donut <br />cause problems at that corner, banning left turns would be unworkable* The <br />committee felt that .the ongo ing caution exercised by drivers regularly using <br />the intersection would be the only viable option, <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to accept the re Comm enda - <br />tiona of the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee to deny the request of Robert <br />Trask. It was agreed that additional enforcement of traf f is laws at thv <br />Waltham S treet/Marrett Road intersection will be requested. <br />The report on the request of Arr a Yaghi cyan to allow loft turns from the Yeghiayan <br />Rte. 2 exit ramp near Spring Street, to Concord Avenue, was reviewed.
