r <br />i <br />A T <br />3 <br />SELECTMEN S MEETING <br />May 1, 19 85 <br />V <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Wednesday, May 1 , 1985 <br />at 7: p.m. Chairman Marshall, Mrs. B attin, Mr. McLaughlin, Mr. Eddison, <br />Mr. Dailey; Mr . Hutchinson., Town Manager; Mr. Cohen, Town Co uns el ; Ms. Adler, <br />Assistant to the Town Manager; Mrs. Snow, Executive Cl erk, were present. <br />Due to the delayed arrival of Mr. Marshall, Mrs. B a t ti n, as senior member, <br />opened the meeting. <br />The Town Manager referenced the Director of Public Works /Engineering memo - Extra work <br />randum requesting approval of an extra work order, to be ac como dated under Order #1 <br />.Acct. 5400, for an additional 1500+ a ft. ,of sidewalk resurfacing on Worthen Road Contr.85 -5 <br />x <br />beginning at W al th am Street , on Ae =High 5 c o 1 s Vii. , e, and proceeding toward the <br />center pool. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve Extra work order <br />#1 under Sidewalk Resurfacing Contract .8.5 - with Paolini Corporation, in the <br />amount of $ 6, 221.60, for work as outlined above. <br />Mr. Marshall joined the mee ting at that time. Traf - <br />The South Lexington Traffic Study, proposed under Article 47, was discussed . f is Study <br />It was f elt that conduct of. a study at this time, before all current development Art. 47 <br />is completed and the traffic. impact stabilized, would be premature. It was agreed <br />that the study should be conducted when ' the next development in that area is <br />own -proposed. <br />Upon motion dully made and seconded, it was, voted to execute a Deed for Lot 213 , Deed <br />Xa 7 2 and Lot 216 Ma 7 2 conveying e i n the lots is t o Joseph e h J. and Marjorie o r i e P. P u h Mu r p Ay <br />P a P � y g P J rP y� <br />as authorized under Article 33, 1982 Town Meeting and Article 58, 19 84 Town Meeting. <br />Mr. Tonascuck, Director of Public works and Engineering, reported on progress MDC <br />with construction of the MDC sewer behind Lexington Center., The contractor wishes Sewer <br />to begin near Grant Street on May 8, and estimates that 8 working days will be Lex Ctr <br />needed to get through the Center area, including the Meriam Street Parking Lot. <br />Access through the lot will be provided but approximately 30 parking spaced will <br />affected during construction. There will be significant distruption in the <br />vicinity of the booth and on Meriam Street. Mr. To nas zu.ck assured the Board that <br />the operation will be kept as tight as possible, and stated that 3/ 4 of the lot <br />will be operative at all times. An information flyer will be distributed by the <br />Parking Attendant and Town Meeting will be told of the construction schedule. <br />Mr. Hutchinson reported that the DPW contract had been settled that day. A <br />DPW <br />report of the details of the contract will <br />be prepared for distribution to the <br />Contract <br />Board . <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it <br />was voted to adjourn <br />at 7:58 p.m. <br />A true record, Attest: <br />w c . <br />Marion H.
